So we went to the Hollywood Video store down the road from our apartment that’s going out of business…New releases (used rentals) were 3 for $25.00…old releases, again, used rentals, were 3 for $18 and change…We picked up Pan’s Labyrinth from the oldies and Trick’r Treat, Tokyo Gore Police and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto from the new releases (note: we have already purchased Midnight Meat Train, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre last week)…When we went to check out, however, we were disappointed to find out that Tokyo Gore Police was a “display only” case, which meant it had no DVD in it, and the Haunted World of El Superbeasto was normal, just without a DVD either…The only other copy of El Superbeasto was also labeled “Display Only” ; there were no other copies of Tokyo Gore Police. So we bought….nothing. In memory of the movies we could have owned tonight:
