I’m probably the 1,000,000th person to blog about this today, so I won’t get into any of the technical likes and dislikes of Apple’s brand new goodie, the…um…er…*clears throat*…iPad…But I will say this:

After watching Steve waltz around on stage today with his new gadget, I thought to myself how this was pretty much like an iPod Touch with a 9.56″ x 7.46″ touch screen. It’s beautiful, it’s handy and dandy, but that’s about all I got from it. The built in microphone and 10 hour active battery life are very attractive, as well as the fact that I can get one with up to 64GB of memory…Still not gonna get it. Audio is still mono and if I’m reading correctly, you still have to buy apps for it, iPod style, which I think is pretty lame…

Give me stereo sound and the ability to install programs on it and I’m sold…Ya know…As long as you make the price about $300 (or less)…As it stands right now, though, I’m just hoping I find a friend with one that will let me check my Facebook on it. There’s a chance I’ll be sick of it after that.

Enjoy today’s haiku:

Steve Jobs’ new iPad
I need a friend who has one
Cos I won’t buy one

Seriously, if you get one, call me…I’m totally there.
