I’ll start by saying that it’s looking an awful lot like I’ve neglected my blog lately and if it looks like that, it’s only because it’s the truth. I’m not neglecting it as punishment or because I’ve become lazy – rather, I’ve been working hard on putting together some of the 30 day projects that are going to fill up posts in this blog on a regular basis starting at the first of February. Let the creativity flow!
Time is ticking down to the, what I hope is, eagerly anticipated and hopefully well received official Church Boy Blog, tentatively set for launch on January 31. Nearly everything is in place for the launch of it, so here’s to hoping the people dig. I dig people that dig. Moving on.
Appointment 11, transcribed from the scribbled scratchy handwriting I’m not too proud of, follows:
“Today’s assignment calls for me to attend church and list two ways I’ve worshiped. Easy, but first –
“It’s interesting that today’s Scripture echoes the message at church. We were told how the word “Church” isn’t referring to a red-brick building with white pillars out front. The Church, however, is the gathering of believers with the purpose and goal of healing each other with compassionate hearts, helping those in need and, most importantly, giving praise to God and advancing His Kingdom. This church is the Bride of Christ, no matter if it’s held in the building described above, in someone’s living room or even in the parking lot of our favorite local department store.
“One way I worshiped today was simply by going to church and lifting my spirit to God through praise and worship songs – The other was by giving my vow to expand the church, His Kingdom and His Word. We are currently looking into starting our own small group!
“Praise! Praise! Praise!”
“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of His coming back again is drawing near.”
