Screenplay update:

Just after midnight and we’ve finished the read through of the rough draft.  85 pages and it only took us 3 1/2 hours.  It didn’t seem like it took that long, but it certainly did, so I can’t imagine how long such a thing would take on one of those disposable Hollywood garbage movies, though I’m fairly confident the entire script would look something like this:

INT. SUCKER’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM
A couple who cannot think for themselves and will buy into anything we make sit in front of their TV watching a movie they’ve rented at the Red Box.

PERSON 1
MUST WATCH CRAP

PERSON 2
I HATE THINKING WHILE WATCHING MOVIES

HOLLYWOOD
This movie is shit but you bought it anyway because of our cool marketing team…Hahaha!

That was immature.

Anyway, according to the “book” during today’s read, I was not supposed to judge anything, whether it be the script, my ability as a writer or my pathetic decision for wanting to become one.  So I didn’t.  But what I did find out was:

If this script were to be made into a movie, it wouldn’t be the next Nightmare on Elm Street franchise
If this script were to be made into a movie, it would receive a weird, small cult following, I’m sure of it
I cannot spell worth a poop
Spell check isn’t helpful when it likes a word when it’s spelled correctly in addition to incorrectly
I overuse (…)
I am excited as can be about entering this contest!

Enjoy today’s haiku:

So tomorrow starts
